How Long Will It Take to Learn How to Trade?
You've heard about the stock market and how great it can be. You've heard how you can sit at home in your underwear and make money online trading without ever needing to get dressed? All these things are certainly true; however, the big question I get on a routine basis is how long will it take me to learn how to trade? On the surface it seems like a simple and to-the-point question, but it's actually a quite complex thing to answer for the reasons I discuss in this video.

I too, have had this question in my mind. I’ve been following you for several months now and have looked at all your plans on your website that offer training. I still do not feel there is enough information (for me) as to what is required from a technical standpoint to even begin. I have a very good computer and internet connection, I am fairly good with new software programs, and I am familiar with the market as I have managed by stocks myself through Vanguard. But, that really takes no skill. I really would like to get into day trading as I am addicted to the computer and it would be an awesome way for me to make money. I work part-time for myself and am semi-retired. Maybe you have some free videos on how to start at the beginning of this process with in-depth details and, I just haven’t found them yet. I feel like I would need a tutor to get me started to understand the computer charts/software more clearly. Do you have a way for us to find out if there are others in our own area who are in your group? Maybe some of your followers would be willing help other people on a local level. Just thinking off the top of my head here. I’ll go watch the ‘behind scenes tour’ and maybe that will answer more questions for me. I want to be able to work from home. That is my goal. I’m not trying to get rich although, that would be nice lol.
“I have a very good computer and internet connection, I am fairly good with new software programs, and I am familiar with the market as I have managed by stocks myself through Vanguard.” You are more than prepared then to start to actually learn “how to trade”.
Clay’s courses are a great place to start, but after you get the fundamentals this is a self developing path. You can save a year of work at least, with that path, if you are starting having no clue
Correct, and you need to know HOW to PROPERLY use the RIGHT tools in order to “develop”. That is where my courses come into play.
CountryLifeTales youβre thinking too much about it man… sometimes the people who try to learn the most do the least… go for it bro. (I see your comment is a year old, I hope you finally conquered your goals) π
The move you referenced is “Dumb and Dumber”… classic. Great video like always Clay
Cheers!
How much do you bench?
No idea. I haven’t maxed out in a long time.
ClayTrader Ok. What kind of engineering degree did you get? Im looking to study engineering but I also want to add some economics in the mix to be more well rounded

Is that good?
What’s a good stock to trade when your just starting
Ticker symbol: knowledge
I’ve been doing small long-term trading for a while. Mostly in cryptos. In the past two months, I’ve learned a lot. It simply is just mostly how much time you are willing to put in it. Though I have no aspiration to become a day trader. I just wanna trade every week or so. For day trading you just need far more knowledge and capital, not to mention all the tools and licenses. If you are truly passionate about it then sure go ahead and do it, but I guess a lot of people who have that kind of determination already study something stock trading related for a degree.
“not to mention all the tools and licenses” – this is NOT true at all. You don’t need a “license” to be able to day trade.
My bad. You do not need a license, that’s true. Though don’t you have to pay for certain trading software and tools?
Depends. Not necessarily.
Harry, I took care of it
hahaha… well played!
It really depends on the person someome who’s really interested in trading will understand its a marathon not a sprint and our whole life’s as traders is learning changing and adapting to markets if they wanna learn everything in a set amount of time that’s definitely setting themselfs up for failure
I agree. Setting perceptions in line with reality is a must.
From my experience so far, learning to trade is quick and easy. The real question is, how long does it take to learn how to trade profitably. lol thats the hard part.
Which I would argue is part of learning “to trade”.
Give trading 5 years before you judge it. Should be profitable after 3 years.
Thanks for your opinion.
it takes less than that i can testify to that.well i trade options so ?
WHERE DO I LEARN HOW TO TRADE? ANY BOOKS? DO YOU KNOW ANY STRATEGY?
If you like the free videos I have, then I’d recommend giving this link a look https://claytrader.com/courses/
edbecks321@gmail thank me later
Took me about 9 months to get rid of the emotions (the now, now, now mindset) then less than a month to actually create a strategy, and now I’m trading with nice $$ gains. I told myself a year ago that I’m gonna sacrifice a full year (with flexibility up to 2 yrs)for just learning, mindset was: You will definitely NOT have any gains for 1 year, try to wipe out $600 in no less than 4 months, ended up flat on most trades (140 rt) (secure exits TICK), but only software fees ate $400(this help you create a strategy, I don’t use a software now). Like any other subject in schools, give yourself more time than you need. Give your brain some room = less stress = effective learning = faster learning. and man, trading is now fun yo
Nicely said. Congrats on your progress in what sounds like an uptrending direction.
Liking the new haircut!
